West Ham United fans have been letting the club know they demand more, after the club shared a quote from Declan Rice suggesting the players were knackered walking off the pitch on Monday night.
The tweet sent from West Ham’s official Twitter account on Wednesday morning included a line taken from Rice’s post-Liverpool media duties, where he referred to the amount of effort all the players put in to ensure a good result.
“I think you saw us walking off the pitch, we were knackered, but that was the hard work we put in and the hard work we put in on the training field since the Wolves defeat.”https://t.co/FDTqId4Ocj

Their efforts certainly did the trick, as Liverpool could not stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table beyond three points as a goal by Michail Antonio countered Sadio Mane’s controversial opener.
However, Rice admitting that the squad had felt the effects from a heightened training regime following the Wolverhampton Wanderers game did not go down well.
One fan noted in response that their efforts had actually only returned a result in one of their past four games, which would see most people sacked from their job.
Here’s a round-up of some of the best replies…
Has to be done every game now. No game is easier than another in terms of work rate. You don’t become a top side without working hard.

All this says is they don’t try this hard every week.

I hate to say this but they should be walking off knackered EVERY game. Great performance which shows what we are capable of if that effort is shown week in week out

And the hard work you will have to put in to beat CP

The hard work doesn’t stop now. Everyone has to work harder than they did before otherwise nothing will change

Performed once in four games,25% effort would get most people the sack!

The required standard every week, please. The group needs to work out on the training how to achieve that, as clearly it doesn’t always happen.⚒️⚒️
