With, during this summer transfer window West Ham having signed a plethora of players, including the likes of Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere, it is being reported that a familiar face at the club is on the verge of leaving the club.
According to the news source, Sky Sports, the Hammers are close to tying up a deal that would see Pedro Obiang make a return to the Italian club, Sampdoria. A fee of €10 million is being quoted but it would appear that the Hammers want more:
Sampdoria’s current offer for Pedro Obiang is €10m, however West Ham are demanding €12m. Italian club are considering to insert either a % of any future sale or certain bonus payments to the Hammers. Obiang has already agreed terms with his former club

Although the midfielder still has four years to run on his contract, it would seem that the events of this summer transfer window have deemed the player as being surplus to requirements.
However, with a deal in the pipeline perhaps it should be pointed out that although Obiang was a regular in the side before the festive period, he only made one appearance in the side from February onwards.
But, what does the social network media tell us about the fans reactions to a possible move?
I know I am in the minority here, but I just don’t get the fuss about Obiang – I’ve only ever seen him have a handful of really good games. Rarely makes an incisive forward pass. I’d be delighted if Pellegrini brought out the best in him. But right now I think he’s just average.
