In what has been a very productive summer transfer window, column inches are still being generated inferring that the Hammers are still looking to add to their squad.
The latest inference coming courtesy of Sky Sports, is that West Ham are one of three Premier League clubs looking to sign the Swansea City centre-back, Alfie Mawson, with the other two interested clubs being Burnley and Fulham.
Mawson, currently recovering from knee surgery he had at the end of last season, is rated, by Swansea City, at £20 million.
Having already signed Issa Diop, earlier this summer, for what was at the time a club record transfer fee, I’m not sure that the piece of speculation rings 100% true, especially with other areas of the squad needing strengthening first.
Delving into the plethora of social network media posts, it seems that the proposed deal would be welcomed, with the following post illustrating the point:
I’d be delighted if we signed him! Better value for money than #Lascelles in my opinion. Newcastle won’t let him go on the cheap.

However, always prepared to offer a balanced view, some are not so keen:
Don’t really care, better options I reckon for cheaper
