Could West Ham United Have Picked The Wrong Man For The Job Insinuation

|

When it was announced that Manuel Pellegrini would be the new man in the West Ham United managerial hot-seat this season, the obvious reaction was that those in charge of the club had made a good decision.

After all, Pellegrini has the pedigree and amongst his achievements is winning the Premier League title with Manchester City.

But, after two defeats in the opening two Premier League fixtures, are there doubts creeping in as to whether he really is the man for the job?

The reason I ask is that lurking amongst the comments posted on Vital West Ham are the following:

“A manager that has enjoyed life with winning teams, CV not so hot with losers. Spent big on flair but if the engine in a Ferrari is U/S then it won’t start. The engine at West Ham is faulty, firing With a few dodgy spark plugs.

“Some new additives needed to improve performance. Obiang, with height and power can be the extra required, it’s such an unbalanced (and expensive) squad he’s just about the only option left. I’m very concerned, I hope improvement comes, otherwise an Evertonesque rescue by Big Sam is on the cards.!”

And

“Pellegrini gone by Xmas.”
