‘Could have been immense’ – Some West Ham fans react to speculated injury update

West Ham fans may have seen the last of Andy Carroll, and it is clear by what these supporters are saying on social media that he won’t be missed.

Carroll last played under Manuel Pellegrini in our defeat to Manchester City when the boss handed the former England international a surprise start at the Etihad Stadium.

He even managed to play out the full ninety minutes against the Premier League title hopefuls, but Carroll has not been seen since, and the Mirror are now reporting that it is because the 30-year-old has suffered yet another ankle injury.

The Liverpool flop missed much of the start of the season as he had to undergo further surgery to his ankle, only to suffer a run of setbacks, meaning he has actually missed more games in East London than he has played, and that is without including the fixtures he will now be forced to sit out.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, as well, the chances of the 6-foot-3 forward lacing his boots again in East London are next to none, with the Mirror adding that the club are not planning on extending his current £90,000-a-week deal or negotiating new terms.

When fan account West Ham News shared the report on Carroll’s situation on Twitter, there was hardly a rush of supporters suggesting he will be missed…
