‘Caused too much mayhem’ – Some West Ham fans have fond memories of Diafra Sakho

Making the leap from any division to the Premier League is difficult for most players, but Diafra Sakho made it look easy.

The Senegalese international joined the Hammers in the summer of 2014 from Ligue 2 side FC Metz for an undisclosed fee according to BBC Sport, and despite joining from a second-tier side, Sakho was quick to make a good impression at West Ham.

The striker scored a goal in each of his first four starts for the club, including strikes against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, and although Sakho eventually left the Hammers for Rennes last year, some supporters still remember the attacker fondly.

Some fans took to social media to praise Sakho after West Ham tweeted an anniversary post five years from the day the striker joined the club.

Here is what some supporters said on Twitter about Sakho…

Sakho now plays his trade in Turkey with Super Lig side Bursaspor.
