According to a report from TEAMtalk, Hammers defender Issa Diop has told the club that he wants to leave at the end of the season – with plenty of supporters responding to the rumour with varying degrees of cynicism amid the youngster’s reported stance.
Diop, who has started 22 games for the Irons this season in the Premier League, has arguably had a mixed campaign for us so far – temporarily losing his place to stand-in defender Fabian Balbuena around the mid-way point whilst also failing to outshine centre-back partner Angelo Ogbonna.
This is in stark contrast to last season when the Frenchman was debatably one of our key defensive men – according to WhoScored, Diop started 33 matches whilst averaging 2.1 tackles and 1.9 interceptions per game, with only four players bettering his defensive stats at the London Stadium that year.
However, with this report suggesting that the youngster has asked to leave the London Stadium, many supporters have responded with an array of strong opinions.
Should West Ham sell Issa Diop?
Yes
No
The majority of replies indicate that they are happy to let the ‘overrated’ player move on, even if other fans have slightly different views on his time at the club and how they could profit off his reported £60 million asking price.

Excellent news, much overated. Get as much money as we can for him & bin him off. We only want players who want to play for the badge

Can see us cashing in on him I like him but he is inconsistent if the money gets re invested I wouldn’t be too sad to see him go

Issa Diop is a player with great potential at this level, however, has been extremely inconsistent this season and has been overshadowed by the performances of Ogbonna.West Ham should only contemplate selling Diop if they have replacement lined up prior to selling and a large fee

To be honest for me he wouldn’t be hard to replace
