West Ham fans have loved watching on this season when Angelo Ogbonna has been playing for them at the back. The Italian has been in flying form and the form of the side with and without him so far this season has been very telling.

In the Premier League this season, the eight games in which Ogbonna has featured for the club has seen them ship eight goals and lose twice, yet when he’s sat out, it’s been very different as the Irons have lost three of their four games and shipped 12 goals (Transfermarkt).
Those stats were collected by one West Ham fan account and posted on Twitter, and the replies were very telling. The fans cannot work out why Ogbonna has been left out as of late and considering they’ve lost their last three with Ogbonna on the bench for them all, with a lot of them commenting on the situation.
Who is West Ham's best centre-back?
Angelo Ogbonna!
Issa Diop!
Fabian Balbuena

Can’t understand why he’s not playing

It’s a very strange one. He’s not injured and has consistently been our best centre-back, so why he’s lost his first team place to Balbuena who’s been sub-par in every game he’s played is a mystery to me mate.

They must have fallen out

Spot on, why he’s not playing is madness

Just 1 of the many shocking decisions by Pellegrini yet still our board back him to turn things around. Struggling to decide who annoys me most atm

100% crazy how badly he has been treated

The Hammers are far from happy that Ogbonna has been dropped and will be keen to see the Italian return for the Spurs game after the international break.
