When asked by a fan whether he thought the Hammers would be able to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, Ex stated that he wasn’t feeling confident.
And members of the Claret & Blue Army reacted with an outcry of disgruntlement, some of them angry at the source for claiming there was interest in the Frenchman in the first place and others generally frustrated with the current striker situation.
With under a month until Manuel Pellegrini’s men get their 2019/2020 campaign underway at home to Manchester City in the Premier League, they have just two senior centre-forwards.
Italian journalist Nicolo Schira of Gazzetta has claimed that a £36m deal had been completed for Haller and that he is to sign a five-year contract at London Stadium.
