According to Spanish outlet Sport, West Ham could challenge Everton in the race to sign striker Martin Braithwaite from La Liga giants Barcelona.

There’s bound to be plenty of rumour and speculation filling column inches at the moment with football around the globe coming to a halt thanks to the current pandemic that is carrying to disrupt daily life.

It’s hard to decipher which rumours are feasible, then, but this sounds like one that could be in with a chance of happening, just when you consider the figures potentially involved.

The striker is valued at £10.8m by transfermarkt, whilst Sport reports that Barcelona would look for around 18m Euros in order to let him leave the club.

Should we sign him?

Yes

No

The Catalan giants, of course, only just signed the former Middlesbrough man in a deal that grabbed a fair few headlines.

They signed him outside of the Spanish transfer window on an emergency deal from a struggling Leganes with many wondering just why they were allowed to do so.

Anyway, a few months on, the La Liga side seems open to letting him go for the right price and the Hammers and the Toffees are linked.

The kind of figures mentioned are certainly within the Irons’ financial ability, too, and so it remains to be seen if the club makes a move.
