West Ham representatives meet with midfielder to discuss future

|

West Ham are looking to find stability under the tenure of Manuel Pellegrini and have shown significant signs of improvement during the first half of the season.

Further activity in the market is likely though, especially with the Hammers expected to lose Marko Arnautovic’s services to Chinese side Shanghai SIPG, and discussions have taken place over the future of one talented asset.

The Oxford MailĀ states West Ham representatives visited League One side Oxford City to meet with youngster Marcus Browne where the player’s future was discussed – with it ultimately decided he will remain with the club until the end of the season.

21-year-old Browne has become a key figure for Oxford this season, scoring four goals and contributing three assists in 22 league appearances, and West Ham were considering bringing him back to east London to become a part of the first-team squad.

However, staying with Oxford on loan until the end of the season was considered to be the best option for the development of the midfielder.
