West Ham loanees continue to impress with adopted clubs in October

|

The Hammers have sent out six players on loan this season, including the likes of Conor Coventry and Mipo Odubeko in the Championship.

As a couple of them continue to impress, we take a look at how they have fared with their new clubs this month and how much they have improved during their time away.

Conor Coventry

On loan with Peterborough United, popular West Ham loanee Conor Coventry has fitted into the side exceptionally well. Already the 21-year-old has started three games for the Championship side and regularly comes off the bench, making eight appearances in total.

The defensive-minded midfielder has encountered two wins out of two following the international break, coming on to help his side win both. The Republic of Ireland U21 captain should earn even more minutes going forward but looks to be settling in well.

Nathan Holland

Similar to Coventry, 23-year-old winger Nathan Holland is also impressing with his adopted club Oxford United who play in League One. After starting off as a substitute for the club, Holland has now broken his way into the starting lineup.

Making 12 appearances in total, he has started five with three of them coming in the last month. The forward has already scored two goals and provided an assist for his new side, and has helped them to three victories out of five in October.

Mipo Odubeko

Highly-rated striker Mipo Odubeko is yet to feature for his new club in October but has made several appearances from the bench for his loan side Huddersfield Town in the Championship.

The 19-year-old will be looking to get more minutes with the starting XI over the next few months, with Terriers head coach Carlos Corberan saying that his chance will come if his “excellent” attitude continues.

The striker will just need to gain more experience playing in and around the first team before he gets his chance.

Nathan Trott

22-year-old goalkeeper on loan at Ligue 2 side Nancy in France has started all 10 league games for the side since joining.

Unfortunately, his side sit at the bottom of the league table with only one clean sheet so far this season, but the keeper has put in several good performances to help his team record some vital points.

Frederik Alves

Back in League One is Sunderland defender Frederik Alves, who is yet to discover a starting role with his club but has made several appearances in cup competitions for the Black Cats.

The centre-half has helped his side to victories in the EFL Cup and EFL trophy and could start again for his side against Queens Park Rangers this week.

Joseph Anang

The final player away on loan from West Ham is 21-year-old Stevenage goalkeeper Joseph Anang. After starting 15 games for the League Two side, he was unfortunately dropped for their 0-0 draw against Leyton Orient this weekend.

However, Anang will likely get another chance to impress again after a strong start to the season, keeping four clean sheets so far.
