Hammers winger Jarrod Bowen is on the radar of England manager Gareth Southgate, according to The Athletic’s West Ham correspondent Roshane Thomas.

Thomas earlier this week that Bowen has impressed Southgate with his recent performances and has strengthened his case for an England call-up after West Ham’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.

The 24-year-old, who is now valued at £27million by Transfermarkt, arrived at the Hammers from Hull City for £20million almost two years ago in January 2020. But despite impressing the manager and fans, he has struggled to find goals on a consistent basis since his arrival.

His quality of dribbling and passing as well as his high-energy approach to matches have made him a key player in the West Ham setup. However this season, Bowen has improved even more to help the Hammers get off to an excellent start to the campaign.

In his past seven games in all competitions, he has scored three goals and assisted twice and has received much praise from fans and pundits alike for his performances in a claret and blue shirt.

According to the report from The Athletic, his next aim is to become a reliable source of goals on a consistent basis. This will be the deciding factor for Southgate ahead of his next England selection.

As a 24-year-old, Bowen has a lot of time left to keep improving and establishing himself as a standout Premier League player. He has got off to a great start this season, and will only be motivated to prove himself to Southgate in the near future.
