Despite recruiting seven new players, it seems that we’re destined to continue with our summer spree as we look to enhance the quality of our squad. The Augsburg defender, Martin Hinteregger, is likely to be the next player to make the move to the London Stadium.
Although we’ve already secured the signings of Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena, the Sun reports that we’re in a battle with Everton to sign Martin Hinteregger. The 25-year-old has impressed during his spell in the Bundesliga, and he’s also experienced at international level, having attained 30 international caps.
Verdict:
Despite the several defensive options that we have at our disposal, the arrival of Hintergger would elevate the standard of our defence, while providing the team with valuable completion and treasured depth. For a reported fee of £13M, he could prove to be a very astute signing.
