Video: West Ham man breaks his silence in message to supportive fans

|

It’s been a tough week for Andriy Yarmolenko. He suffered a major injury against Tottenham over the weekend, and within days he’d already had surgery – with a very bleak timeline for recovery.

According to the official West Ham website, a layoff of around six months is expected, meaning that it’s likely that Yarmolenko may struggle to play much football, if any, again this season.

That’s a significant blow for a player that was just beginning to find his feet in the English top flight, and it’s a blow for the Hammers, who are reliant on his attacking flair.

The Ukranaian had, up until now, been quiet on the matter, as was to be expected, but he’s now broken his silence in a heartfelt message to his supporters.

Taking to Instagram, Yarmolenko has thanked fans for their support since his injury, and it’s clear that he’s already working to get back as soon as possible.

The West Ham faithful are always supportive of their players, and that’s exactly what Yarmo needs in this situation. It’s going to be a long road back to fitness – but we’ll be there supporting him all along the way.

We’re already looking forward to having him back in a West Ham shirt, whenever that may be.
