This sentence alone optimised the feeling from the London Stadium faithful as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night, as relegation became increasingly likely as the games tick by.
An unfortunate Tomas Soucek own goal and a late strike from Harry Kane ensured that the Hammers suffered their second successive defeat since the return to action, following the temporary suspension of the campaign.
The result left them hovering above the relegation zone in 17th, level on points with Bournemouth who have a game in hand.
At full-time, The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas attempted to dissect the action into a pint-sized portion and had plenty you say about manager David Moyes.

It is difficult to argue against what Thomas said, especially considering the Premier League allowed the substitution limit to be extended to five from three.
The Scottish tactician brought Mark Noble and Pablo Fornals off in the 71st-minute for Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini. Those were the only changes that he made during the game.

It’s staggering to imagine what Albian Ateji has done so wrong not to be brought on when West Ham needed goals. The Swiss striker is still yet to start a game and has only played 128 minutes from eight substitute appearances, as per Whoscored.
The boss needs to make the most of the squad at his disposal. A more dynamic system which brings the best of his players, rather than a stubborn, one-dimensional approach.
