Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson both doubts for Brighton

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that West Ham duo Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson are both doubts for this weekend’s game against Brighton.

Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday’s game via Football London, the Hammers boss said that the two attackers picked up knocks in the previous match against Manchester City and that it won’t be until tomorrow until he finds out if they are fit enough to play against Brighton.

Pellegrini said: “We have some problems with Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller, they are trying to recover from the kicks they had in the last game. We will see tomorrow (if they will be fit). We have some doubts.”

As well as succumbing to an embarrassing 5-0 defeat on the opening game of the season, West Ham were plagued with injuries throughout the match.

Jack Wilshere was forced to come off in the second half and as was the aforementioned Anderson, who was withdrawn due to a suspected thigh injury.

The Brazilian winger and Haller now join Mark Noble on the injury table, with the West Ham skipper expected to miss tomorrow’s game against the Seagulls as well due to a dead leg.

The potential game-missing injuries to the two West Ham attackers could serve as a major blow for the Hammers heading into the second game of the season.

Both Anderson and Haller are the club’s two most expensive signings of all time as transfer records from Transfermarkt show, and last season the former Lazio winger was one of the east London side’s most effective attacking players, scoring 10 and assisting five.

Haller, on the other hand, enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt where the French striker scored 20 goals and assisted 12 as Adi Hutter’s side made it to the Europa League semi-finals.
