Report: West Ham United enquire about young Serie A starlet

|

West Ham United have enquired about the availability of AC Milan midfielder Marco Brescianini, according to reports.

The Hammers are likely to make additions to their squad once the 2019/20 campaign draws to a close. But with football suspended for a lengthy period of time, this could have a significant impact on David Moyes’ transfer budget during the summer transfer window.

This could potentially influence the Scottish tactician to look at more affordable alternatives due to the dramatic revenue loss that will be expected when the financial year draws to a close.

Brescianini has yet to make his first-team debut with the seven-time Champions League winners but has scored six goals and provided two assists in the Primavera 2a, which is equivalent to the Premier League 2.

According to Calciomercato, we have contacted the Italian outfit over the availability of Brescianini over a potential move to the London Stadium.

Should West Ham go for Marco Brescianini?

Yes

No

The report adds that the Italian box-to-box midfielder is one of the most interesting youngsters and is firmly on the Hammers’ radar.

This would be an intriguing move that would likely not please everyone due to the owners’ woeful track record when it comes to transfers and backing managers.

Unfortunately, we may not have much choice due to the circumstances we find ourselves in. But to sign a player that has no first-team experience in one of the biggest European leagues is a concern.

I’m sure there are other players on the transfer detector that have had more experience and who can bring a lot to the table.

It remains to be seen whether or not we will go through with this. Whatever happens, we must proceed with caution.
