Report: West Ham to go to war with east London rivals for teenage prospect being followed by PL sides

|

West Ham are one of the many teams interested in signing Woking prospected Oliver Creed, with Millwall also keen on the 16-year-old defender.

According to TEAMtalk, the Hammers are just one of a handful of sides keeping tabs on the non-league centre-back, who has caught the eye of the likes of Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Southampton, as well as Championship side Brentford along with West Ham’s fierce second-tier rivals Millwall.

Although Creed is yet to make his first-team debut for Woking, the teenager featured for the National League side during pre-season, though the teenager could potentially make his senior debut soon with the non-league side yet to win a game since September in the division.

The 16-year-old could be the second teenage defender West Ham sign this year after Manuel Pellegrini’s side added Goncalo Cardoso to their exciting academy ranks from Portugal, and the Hammer’s impressive run in youth football this season could be a unique selling point for Creed.

West Ham’s main development side currently sitting top of Premier League 2’s Division 2 standings after seven games, this promising youth side can be a great next step in Creed’s progression to be a professional football player at the highest level, and that’s without mentioning the fact that the young Hammers remain undefeated in the league, drawing just one game.

With plenty of competition for the signature of Creed, West Ham will have it all against them with some impressive club’s vying for the teenager’s favour, yet supporters will be thinking as long as it isn’t Millwall the centre-back ends up signing for, then no love will be lost.
