West Ham United are believed to be interested in Rangers defender Connor Goldson, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has been an essential asset for the Scottish Premiership side during the current campaign before the season was concluded in April.

Goldson had started all 29 games in the league and nine starts in the Europa League after Steven Gerrard’s side had gone on a good run in Europe, including brilliant wins over the Portuguese outfits FC Porto and Sporting Braga.

The Gers’ centre-back has also attracted the interest of Leeds United and Fulham in recent months and with two years left on his contract, there may be a hurry for the team north of the border to secure his future with another side interested in his services.

Would you bring Connor Goldson to West Ham?

Yes

No

According to Football Insider, Rangers believe that they can hold off interest from the Hammers after valuing him at £6m earlier this year.

His manager is a big fan of his. The Liverpool legend applauded his consistency and added that he is a player that you can always trust.

The 6ft 3 defender has proved this with his performances during the 2019/20 campaign, having averaged 7.1 clearances per game, which is a testament to his dominance at the back.

This sort of price would be a steal for this calibre of defender. However, it might be a minefield in bringing him to the capital due to playing regular first-team football and working with one of English football’s most influential figures, currently.

Goldson would be a solid signing and would certainly bolster our strength in depth at the back. We might hear more about this one and months pass by.
