After the elation of gaining those first three points of the season, away to Everton, the Hammers put on a solid performance, against Chelsea, to stretch their unbeaten run to two games.
It was a result that could have been better but for some poor finishing.
In analysing the game, and as reported by the BBC, Manuel Pellegrini had this to say:
“It was a good point against the leaders and a team that scored 14 goals in the first five games.
“It was a close game, and we had two clear chances and they had one.
“We would prefer to have some more possession, but it was a good tactical game and at least we did not lose it.”
Interestingly, after losing the first four games of the season and with the possibility of Pellegrini not being the right man for the job being discussed, the Chilean appears to have turned things around, as several posts on social media would seem to indicate:
Keep going Pelle . Hope you can reach the highs at West Ham like you did for City ????????

It’s amazing how fickle football supporters are, including ourselves we might add.
But next up for West Ham United, in the Premier League, is a huge test against Manchester United at Old Trafford, but optimism levels are rising fast, as the following post illustrates:
Wouldn’t want to go to mad but think we should beat Man Utd next week ⚒️
