West Ham Don’t Seem To Have Learned The Lesson

|

Since being recalled to the starting eleven, away to Everton, Declan Rice has excelled in his position just in front of the back-four.

In fact, there is a case whereby it would be hard to argue against Declan being declared the man-of-the-match in the Everton game and also the subsequent one against Chelsea.

But, to our dismay, it still appears that the future of the player is still in doubt with the 19-year-old not certain of remaining a West Ham United player.

Whilst, we understand contract discussions have been ongoing, the Daily Mail, are reporting that the player is far from happy at being offered a pay increase that would see him earn £12,000 a week.

Now there may be some of you who believe that a salary of £12,000 is huge for somebody of Declan’s age, but, the stark fact remains, it is nowhere as big as the salary those around earn.

The Hammers hierarchy needs to bite the bullet and secure the services of a youngster who has come through the ranks and is in danger of being the latest in a long line of West Ham youngsters who don’t, as they should play for the claret and blue shirt for the majority of their careers.
