Pellegrini must go all out to bring nine-goal striker to West Ham – agreed?

|

West Ham have progressed brilliantly under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini but there is work to be done in January as a huge hole could emerge in the squad over the course of the coming weeks.

The Hammers look set to lose Marko Arnautovic to Chinese side Shanghai SIPG in a deal that will be worth more than £35m and Manuel Pellegrini is likely to look to immediately reinvest the funds from the Austrian’s sale.

Targets have already been identified as Sky Sports states Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson is being considered, The Mail adds that Chelsea duo Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata are also on the shortlist, while SportItalia says an offer for Genoa’s Krzysztof Piatek has been rejected.

Of the four reported targets, 26-year-old England international Callum Wilson, who scored on his international debut last year, stands as the ideal recruit for the Hammers as he is already well established in the Premier League, scoring nine goals and contributing five assists this season, while he is at the age where he can be a long-term asset.
