Italian Alessandro Diamanti’s short spell at West Ham United back in the 2009/10 campaign certainly had its moments.
The now 35-year-old took in 20 starting appearances, a further ten showings from the substitutes bench and chipped in with eight goals and a few assists before moving on almost as quickly as he arrived.
Given his impact at the club, he definitely left an impression on a number of fans at the time and he did end the campaign as runner-up to Scott Parker in our Player of the Year award amongst the fan base. So just like some fans haven’t forgotten him, it appears he hasn’t forgotten us either.

Taking to Instagram recently, he was sporting an “I Love West Ham” mug and the 17 capped international’s message went over extremely well amongst the fans.

We should have been basing our team around him, instead we sold him. So annoying

In fact, it got an even wider audience as West Ham’s social media team Tweeted it out for fans who might now have seen it.
