‘Nothing like it in football’: West Ham man will be very popular after passionate words – opinion

|

There’s nothing like the London Stadium when it’s in full voice. It took us a while to settle in our new stadium, but with our improvements on the field improving, it’s all coming together.

It’s been a pretty solid season all round for the club, but one man that hasn’t had a particularly pleasant spell is Jack Wilshere. He’s been injured for much of the campaign, much to the frustration on the West Ham fanbase.

However, his latest comments on the club are sure to go some way to winning over the fans.

As per the official West Ham website, he said: “We have a fantastic stadium and an amazing fan base, and when they’re cheering us on here, supporting us, there’s nothing like it in football.”

He continued: “We fill this stadium every week and, as a footballer, we want to play in that environment all the time. We want to continue our good run against Everton now.”

Wilshere’s move to West Ham was popular in the summer, as on his day there’s nobody better. However, injury problems have reared their ugly head once more this term, and that must be so frustrating.

However, paying tribute to fans is one surefire way of regaining your popularity, and with Wilshere on the verge of a first-team return, he’s clearly looking to embed himself in the club more directly.

As is the case whenever a player gets injured, it’s simply our job to stand by them and hope that they come back stronger.

It’s certainly going to be a whole lot easier to support him knowing that he’s been so complimentary towards the West Ham fanbase.
