News: What are we up against? Team news for West Ham’s opposition tonigh

|

Tonight, as you’ll all be well aware, the Hammers are set to face their toughest game of the season on paper, as they travel away to the home of the runaway Premier League leaders, Liverpool. This comes just five days after travelling to face Man City, and expectations are low for the Irons.

However, nothing is guaranteed in the Premier League, and here we’ll be looking at just what the Irons may be set to face later on as Liverpool aim to continue their push towards an invincible season with a home win against the relegation battling Irons.

Jurgen Klopp looked to have lost his captain Jordan Henderson to a muscle injury in his side’s last game, a 1-0 loss away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, and because of that we’re expecting to see Naby Keita come into the starting eleven for this one.

Where will our next win come from?

Liverpool

Southampton

Arsenal/Wolves/Tottenham/Chelsea

Newcastle/Burnley/Norwich

Other than that, there’s little in the way of injuries or suspensions for the Anfield side, with The Evening Standard expecting Klopp to go with his usual attacking trio of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Here’s what the article claims:

‘After having the luxury of fielding what many consider Liverpool’s strongest XI for the first time all season at Atletico Madrid last week, Jurgen Klopp must come up with a new formula for the visit of West Ham United.’

‘The hamstring injury Jordan Henderson picked up in Spain is likely to sideline him for three weeks. ‘

‘That should provide an opportunity for Naby Keita, who came into the team for last weekend’s trip to Norwich City.’

‘Xherdan Shaqiri is the only other absentee, with the playmaker not yet ready to return to training following a calf problem.’

‘With a rare free midweek approaching, Klopp is unlikely to be prompted into making too many other changes to a familiar line-up.’

Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Keita, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane.’
