News: Moyes plans against relegation scuppered by key injury

|

West Ham and David Moyes are up against it this season and relegation is a real fear. The fans are desperate for their side to find a way to beat the drop and survive, and it seems that they’re going to struggle even more now that Moyes’ plan has hit a huge stumbling block.

The fans are sick and tired of watching their side’s negative football and poor results, and now it seems that the football won’t change as the man that Moyes has lost to injury is Ryan Fredericks’ the Hammers lightning-fast right-back, and the gaffer has now claimed his plans have been thrown into disarray.

The story, published by Football.London, claims that the Hammers are struggling at right-back now that Fredericks has suffered damage to ligaments in his shoulder, and considering the fact that the remaining two right-back options are polar opposites in Pablo Zabaleta and Jeremy Ngakia, things don’t look good.

Obviously, the key thing here is for Moyes to find a way of playing that doesn’t become too hampered when he hasn’t got his first-choice right-back, but this is West Ham and things are never that simple, so only time will tell what the former Manchester United manager reverts to now.

Is Ryan Fredericks good enough?

Yes

No

You can see exactly what Moyes said here:

‘You have to remember in the first two weeks we lost three players, Lucas went out the team and lost Ryan and Felipe so we had to change things around a wee bit right at the start.’

‘I thought Jez [Ngakia] did very well in his one game against Liverpool for a young boy starting. We are all aware of what it is like. Having your first game is quite good but having the next two, three four or five games is when you are looking for consistency and it is quite a pressure situation.’

‘I think the other thing is that I am keen to give the young players the opportunity. Ideally, it would not be in this situation and at Anfield away or in this situation where we are in the League.’

‘Ideally, you would try to bed them in but it does not always come perfectly. Zabaleta, as you know, has been incredibly reliable and has a great personality when he plays.’
