News: Former West Ham manager has claimed the club can survive this season, here’s how…

|

West Ham’s hopes of survival this season are thin. The Hammers are desperate to be playing Premier League football next season, and David Moyes has his work cut out to make it happen, although Sam Allardyce has given his say on the matter.

The former West Ham gaffer has managed more Premier League clubs than anyone else in the history of the competition, yet he has never been relegated and now he’s been lending his expertise to Moyes, giving his opinion on what the Irons need to do to stay up this season.

The experienced gaffer was speaking directly to TalkSPORT, and fans can see what he had to say on Twitter, but the gist of what Allardyce had to say was that the Hammers need to make themselves defensively sound and start picking up the odd point whilst saving their best displays for the winnable games.

Should Moyes stay even if results don't improve?

Yes

No

It makes sense what Allardyce has had to say, but it is also so much easier said than done and the fans will need to put their faith in Moyes to be able to do what Allardyce has made a career from and keep the Hammers above the dotted line.

This is what Allardyce had to say:

‘The position that they’re in is because of a lack of confidence, and that has drained out of the players. It’s why the previous manager got the sack, and David has came in to try and bring better results. But it’s been a difficult period and even more difficult with this group of fixtures that are coming up.’

‘David did it before, he got them out of trouble and they stayed up. One of the important things is for the West Ham fans to stay with them at home. I know it’s hard if you’re not seeing what you want to see, but if you want to stay in the Premier League, you need to get behind your team.’
