West Ham have struggled for consistency so far this season but provided themselves with a platform to build upon during the busy festive period after beating Newcastle United 3-0 on Saturday.
Victory for Manuel Pellegrini’s side will leave the Hammers in good spirits heading into this evening’s clash with Cardiff City, a game where the hosts will be favourite to defeat the Welsh side at the London Stadium, but there is certainly still work to be done.
After a very busy summer window where over £100m was spent, West Ham look set to be active again in January to rejuvenate their side and there has been plenty of speculation regarding the future of the side in the final third.
Javier Hernandez was signed in summer 2017 from Bayer Leverkusen and has struggled to find consistency on his return to the Premier League, although his performance against Newcastle has left many believing he is still a crucial asset to the squad.
We have gathered some of the fans’ reactions below.
We have to keep him in January

See what he can do when he plays up top with someone else. Great link up play and finishing when he’s got someone alongside him, now stop giving him abuse when he’s playing as a lone striker because it doesn’t suit him

That’s what happens when you play a natural striker and goal scorer and actaully provide him with chances. Great player,
