West Ham are improving under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini and Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle United provides a platform to build upon during the busy festive season that lies ahead.
Finding consistency has been an issue for the Hammers so far this season but the fixture list during the first few months of the campaign was extremely unkind and a more favourable run of games lies ahead – starting with tonight’s hosting of Cardiff.
There are already plenty of positives to take from Pellegrini’s short spell in charge so far and one major improvement has come in the transfer market, where the Hammers splashed in excess of £100m during the summer on a number of smart additions.
Felipe Anderson, Lukasz Fabianski and Issa Diop have already established themselves as favourites amongst the supporters, while there have also been positives to take from the displays of Andriy Yarmolenko and Fabian Balbuena.
That led to an interesting debate on social media as some fans discussed who their signing of the season has been so far and we have gathered some of their responses below.
Tough vote. Lukasz has been so solid, but Diop is a rock. Anderson is getting better with every game, and Yarmo would have been up there were it not for the injury. I voted Diop, but could have gone either way

Fabianski was the much needed signing. Diop been amazing but we had ginger Collins so wasn’t important at the time. Anderson slowly getting better a D better

I think Yarmo is a great signing. I liked what little I saw of him a lot. Shame his season ended so quickly

Diop or Anderson for me. Both young and have a ton to give. Think we’ll eventually cash in on Diop and make huge profit, but if Felipe was serious about wanting to become a legend here and sticks around for awhile, he could be something else. Almost like if Dimi was 25 & stayed

I’m torn between Diop and Fabianski

I’ve gotta go Issa, the amount of potential and probably sell on value tipped it

I think Balbuena, he was just so cheap. Notice Sanchez didn’t make the list and assume that must just be an oversight on your part, pretty poor really but you’re doing your best
