It`s Not the London Stadium as We Know It

The new Premier League season gets started this Friday evening when Arsenal entertain Leicester City, at the Emirates Stadium.

The Hammers start with an away game, at Old Trafford, on the Sunday.

Last night, tuning into the BBC to watch the World Athletics Championship, the stadium we now call home, the London Stadium, looked far removed from the facility we played in last season.

In fact, it`s fair to say that it resembled what it really is – an Athletics Stadium.

This summer, the stadium also doubled up as a music concert venue, demonstrating its adaptability.

But, all these ‘other` events mean that the Hammers start the season on the road, in fact it`s gotten to such a state, what with the time it takes to revert it back from what it is now to what it was last season, we`ve had to approach the authorities to request that if we`re given a home tie in the 2nd round of the League Cup, a competition now knows as the Carabao Cup, that we be allowed to play it away from home.

Apparently, the London Stadium as we know won`t be ready to stage football when that aforementioned fixture comes around in the week beginning 21st August.

What a shambles is what I say!
