“He can unlock any defence” – Pundit tips West Ham’s “magic” man to rediscover his form

|

Former Premier League striker Alex Bruce believes West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere will rediscover his form after his recent return to full fitness.

Throughout his entire playing career, the 28-year-old has desperately struggled to keep his fitness and has one year left on his contract at the London Stadium.

His reoccurring ankle injury has meant that his time at West Ham has not gone as he would have hoped, having missed 66 games in his first two seasons in East London.

As a result, Wilshere has only scored once and provided one assist in 16 appearances for the Hammers, but has recently overcome his latest knock and is back in full first-team training.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bruce believes the England international has the opportunity to prove his talent once more should he be retained during the next transfer window.

Can Wilshere turn his career around?

Yes

No

“When you’ve got ability like Jack Wilshere has, of course”, he said.

“He can unlock any defence with his ability around the box, passing, assists, unlocking defences with his ability. As long as he can stay fit we’ve seen over the years what he’s capable of.

“That little bit of magic that Jack Wilshere has can be vital come the end of the season so I’m sure he’ll be a big plus if he’s fit.”

David Moyes recently told the club’s official website that Wilshire is another player who has got himself fit and in good condition recently and that he and his coaching staff have been seeing signs of it.

He added that he will feel much better in himself for having got through the sessions after his recent injury mishaps.

I’m not one to write players off but I feel like if Wilshere is let go at the end of the season, he will struggle to find another Premier League outfit.

Don’t get me wrong, he is tremendously talented as Bruce states. But the fact we are unable to see it on a regular basis means that his days with us are numbered. Despite this, I’m hoping for a dramatic turnaround.
