Hammers Set To Spend Big In January As Financial Splurge Continues

|

After witnessing a summer transfer window, the likes of which we’ve never witnessed before, whereby the club dug deep and spent in excess of £100 million, it’s debatable as to whether there will be restraint shown when the January transfer window opens.

After such a huge summer outlay, it wouldn’t surprise me if the purse strings were reigned in completely come January.

However, one media source, the Spanish news vehicle, d10.ultimahora.com, is inferring that the club are looking to add a midfielder to the squad and in doing so are set to pay what we perceive to be a huge fee to do so.

Our referenced source is championing the inference that the club are willing to pay as much as £33 million to bring the Atlanta United midfielder, Miguel Almiron, to the club.

Almiron, who is 24-years-of-age, hails from Paraguay and has been displaying his skills in the MLS since 2014. Now, whether he has enough ability to make an impact in the Premier League remains to be seen.

But, with the Hammers, seemingly, picking up injuries left, right and centre since the season started, it may be necessary to bring in some fresh talent to bolster the squad in the New Year.

Could Almiron be our man?
