Fan favourite reveals the one thing missing from West Ham right now

West Ham United slipped to a shock defeat at Premier League strugglers Cardiff City, and Lukas Fabianski believes the result highlighted an urgent need to address a lack of consistency in the Hammers ranks, per quotes from the club’s official website.

The Hammers went to South Wales on the back of one defeat in their last five top-flight games, but left without a win on the road since December 27.

Since beating Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium in the post-Christmas period, Manuel Pellegrini’s men have actually only taken just one, single point away from East London, as well – coming in the 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

That Saturday afternoon London Derby could also have ended in defeat if fan-favourite Fabianski had not pulled off multiple wonder saves in the second half, and now the Poland international has claimed the squad must take their home results with them.

At the London Stadium, West Ham have won four of their last six in all competitions, drawing the other two, and have looked comfortable and up for it in each clash, which cannot be said when playing away.

Against Cardiff on Saturday, this was evident on multiple occasions, and cannot continue if they are to breach the European places, according to Fabianski.

“It is very important that the season doesn’t drift,” the 33-year-old said.

“We want to finish the season strongly. We have got eight games left and we would like to get as much as we can from them. We have another two home games now and that is important for us.

“It is hard to say why we’ve started slowly in some games recently. Against Newcastle at home we started really well. The team was up for it. The manager is very demanding and wants us to keep pushing, listen to him and react to his words.

“It is a new group, many changes have been made in the summer and it is always a process, it always takes time, we will continue to do our best to learn more from our mistakes and get better as a team.”
