‘Any owner with ambition would see that’ – Lots of West Ham fans debate key figure’s future

|

Our horrific run of results away from home has got fans discussing Manuel Pellegrini’s future on the KUMB forum.

Since the boss took charge, he has only overseen one unbeaten run of results at home, with no defeat in Stratford since December 22 in all competitions.

But our run on the road is in stark contrast to our home form. Despite picking up 11 points from a possible 15 on the road between October 27 and December 27, we’ve only taken one point on our travels since.

As if defeats to the likes of Burnley, Bournemouth and Wimbledon were bad enough, that unacceptable defeat at Cardiff now joins a long list of embarrassing losses away from home this season.

The Premier League away form table has us sitting down in 12th, which isn’t exactly disastrous, but we should be much higher given the level of teams we’ve failed to beat on the road.

It is simply not good enough and cannot continue. That is probably why the boss’ future has been cast into doubt on the KUMB forum…

“The Cup defeat to Wimbledon and the poor handling of the Arnautovic situation has basically written off our season. Would he walk in the summer if he doesn’t get another £50m – £100m to spend?” – Roby (March 10, 16:14)

“I would, that’s the minimum needed, any owner with ambition would see that too.” – S-H (March 10, 16:19)

“I doubt he’d walk away from the money he’s being paid, tbh, but, in fairness, there is only so much that he can do over a three-year deal.” – Prophet:Marginal (March 10, 17:21)

“He’s like your regular M.D. trying to perform brain surgery…” – Cuenca ‘ammer (March 10, 17:33)

“It is a bad away run, but the sacking thing is a little funny. Unfortunately for us, Anderson’s gone on a bad run (something I think he’s gonna be liable to do) at the same time as Arnie has been Arnie. We’ve got Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham and Watford for our last four. Could come out with mo more away points.” – Wilko1304 (March 11, 08:38)

“In Manchester he had the most resources. He did well at Malaga for sure. My point is that some of these away performances have been simply so bad. I have been going away since 1980 and Wolves was the worst I have seen along with Reading 6-0. We could have conceded 10. These players are not trying away from home. – Marky (March 11, 13:46)

“I’m not saying that there haven’t been mistakes made by Pellegrini, but he is having to cope with West Ham Utd being, well, West Ham Utd.” – Faithless (March 11, 14:44)
