ExWHUemployee offers honest opinion on West Ham’s transfer chances

|

It seems as though West Ham United are beginning to push on in their pursuit of transfers this window, as Sky Sports report we have reached an agreement for Brentford’s Said Benrahma, while having a bid rejected by AFC Bournemouth for Josh King.

So far, the only deals that have been completed for senior players are those of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal joining from Slavia Prague, so it may be easy for Hammers fans to get excited about the idea of incoming players.

However, ExWHUemployee has offered an honest opinion about our chances of making signings, as he said:

There have been so many players linked with West Ham this season, only for Coufal to be the sole new face at London Stadium so far – with just four days of the domestic window remaining.

With that in mind, even if there is the chance of somebody like Benrahma signing, Hammers fans would be better off staying on the side of caution for the time being, rather than setting themselves up for further disappointment if things go wrong.

This can be difficult to do though, especially when there are compilation videos showing the Algerian’s quality – notably including the nutmeg and goal against Fulham in the Carabao Cup this term.

Will West Ham manage to sign Benrahma?

Yes

No

An article like this can be seen as a writer needlessly putting a downer on things, but the reality is that throughout this entire window, the West Ham board has failed us time and time again.

If they manage to pull off some exciting deals before the end of the domestic window, then that will, of course, be very pleasing for everyone involved with the club.

However, Ex is right, and for now, Hammers fans should expect the worst until it is proven that those in charge can actually get these eye-catching deals over the line.
