Some West Ham United fans have been berating their club after a transfer update from reliable Hammers source ExWHUemployee on the social media platform.
I think we feel he is too expensive to be interested in https://t.co/F7MSMR5Ow7

The insider was asked by a fan about whether there’s any truth in rumours that the Irons aren’t interested in Brentford striker Neal Maupay this summer transfer window following an original rumour stating we were readying a bid.
And he responded with confirmation that they are by stating that West Ham feel the Frenchman is too expensive despite the Bees slashing his price to just £15m.
Members of the Claret & Blue Army were far from happy with this in the replies to the Tweet, no surprise given the fact that Maupay absolutely tore up the Sky Bet Championship last season with 25 goals and eight assists.
One questioned the sanity of the club and others took aim at the transfer strategy with one more simply sarcastically proclaiming “wow.”
See for yourself, below…
It would seem that we’ve no concept of prices these days. We sell players on the cheap and try to buy on the cheap then wonder why we miss out.

How do the club think someone who scored 25 goals last season who is valued at 15-20M too expensive? Crazy

Seems to be a recurring issue no matter how talented the player is or how much he could contribute to the club
