West Ham United fans on Twitter have been reacting after a hilarious Twitter gaffe made by the club’s Joint-Chairman David Gold on Sunday afternoon.
Good afternoon gentlemen I hope you had a good night. dg https://t.co/JAgzpXX0Wo
— David Gold (@davidgold) July 7, 2019
The 82-year-old was Tweeted a photo of the four cast members of the hit UK sitcom The Inbetweeners, Blake Harrison, James Buckley, Joe Thomas and Simon Bird.
He was told the quartet were big West Ham fans and the picture of them provided, at an awards’ ceremony, was, in fact, a picture of four teenagers at their school prom.
Gold fell for the joke and wished the gentlemen well, spelling the second time he’s fallen victim to an Inbetweeners funny on the social media platform, having been trolled before in very similar circumstances.
And Hammers supporters offered a range of reactions to their Joint-Chairman’s online mistake with one believing the pensioner was going along with the ruse and others continuing the trolling.
Check out the best of them, below…
One of them had trials at West Ham dg, how come you didn’t sign him?
