The London Stadium was an eerie sight as the final whistle approached against Burnley.
Once again, the Hammers faithful had watched on as the side slipped to a third consecutive heavy defeat.
But it was the sight of Trevor Brooking sitting alone in the directors` box, with David Gold and David Sullivan having been forced to vacate their seats for their own safety with a toxic crowd berating the duo`s positions at the club.
However, it seems that amongst the chaotic and disgraceful scenes, David Sullivan was hit by a coin thrown towards him.
Talking to the BBC, Sir Trevor Brooking remarked,
‘A coin did hit David Sullivan. I didn’t see it but I did have that confirmed.”
Before adding about the unsavoury scenes,
‘That atmosphere must never come back’.
We`d hope not but something tells me things might get worse before they get better.
