One subject that has been generating quite a few column inches relates to our hugely talented youngster Declan Rice.

Whilst we have covered the ongoing saga relating to his contract and new salary, we’ve shied clear of the furore surrounding which country Declan will choose to represent on the international stage.

Although Declan has appeared for the Republic of Ireland, he is still able to represent England as his appearances for the Republic have not been in what is classed as competitive football.

Today, the news source, the Daily Mail, that the England management have been impressed with Declan and would welcome a switch of allegiance.

But, there, so far, has been no commitment from the player himself.
