It has not been a comfortable season so far for West Ham, who have suffered seven defeats in the opening 13 Premier League matches.
A lack of consistency in the final third is proving to be a problem once again, with the Hammers continue to rely on Marko Arnautovic to lead the line with Javier Hernandez still struggling to make a positive impression.
David Moyes attempted to rectify that issue during his short stint at the club by signing Jordan Hugill from Preston but he failed to make an impact at the London Stadium after just a handful of opportunities – playing three times in the second half of last season.
A decision was made in the summer to offload the 26-year-old and Hugill joined hometown club Middlesbrough in the Championship – where he is starting to make an impression with the promotion-chasing side.
After failing to find the net in his first 10 league matches, Hugill now boasts three goals in two games after scoring in the 2-1 win over Brentford this weekend – which saw fans heap praise upon the striker.
We have gathered some of their comments below.

One position our academy never really produced was a local prolific striker, had a few over the years don’t get me wrong had potential or went elsewhere. Although not an academy product great to see a local lad leading the line. Superb again today keep it going big man #Boro
