West Ham have struggled to get going under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini, winning just two of their opening 10 Premier League matches.
The Hammers also suffered another defeat at the hands of Tottenham in Wednesday’s EFL Cup clash at the London Stadium, losing 3-1 following a brace from Heung-Min Son and Fernando Llorente’s second-half effort.
While Lucas Perez came off the bench to score, it proved to be merely a consolation at the final whistle and fans on social media have had enough of some of the senior players at the club who continue to underperform.
One of those picked out for individual criticism was Michail Antonio, a fan favourite during Slaven Bilic’s years in charge in East London, but the former Nottingham Forest man has seen his stock dip significantly in recent years.
With Marko Arnautovic, Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Lucas Perez in the squad, many feel Antonio is expendable and have urged Pellegrini to approve a sale in January.
We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
Antonio would struggle to get into my Sunday league team

Antonio, ogbonna, obiang, masuaku and I’ll even say chicharito I would happily see leave in January. The younger lads have some real talent.

Things we learnt from tonight….Antonio, Ogbonna and Masuaku are a long way from 1st team quality on that showing…..

Antonio needs to go asap, can’t watch another minute of him stumbling around falling over the ball or running it out of play

Hernandez-ineffective; Anderson-Invisible; Antonio-incompetent. Disappointing team selection, should have gone for it, a win tonight would have set us up for Saturday.

Anderson Hernandez & Antonio just didn’t look bothered. Defensive errors cost us big time.

Antonio is well past his sell by date, get him out the club in January.
Grady Diangana has already shown enough glimpses of what he’s all about, not scared to take on a defender or 2, pace and skill.
