West Ham may have turned a corner after securing back-to-back victories over Newcastle United and Cardiff City but there is still room for improvement.
Manuel Pellegrini splashed over £100m in the summer to rejuvenate his squad but further spending is necessary to help the club climb the Premier League standings, with the defensive line still looking shaky at times.
Both Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop have excelled in front of Lukasz Fabianski, while on the right Pablo Zabaleta and Ryan Fredericks are good options – although it seems some fans are still looking for an upgrade.
Following reports that Liverpool are prepared to loan out England international Nathaniel Clyne in January, many fans have responded urging the Hammers to make a move for the former Southampton full-back.
While it is not clear where exactly he would fit into the team and what it would mean for Fredericks, who only arrived in the summer, Clyne would certainly be a solid addition to West Ham’s defensive line.
We have gathered some of the comments from supporters below.
Don't want players from abroad in January. Clyne would be perfect.

Now that is a shout. Feel a bit for Fredericks though.

Hope there is some truth in this as he is an excellent player. Has a dodgy back so hopefully we wouldnt be bringing in another sicknote.

Clyne and Bertrand would be great fit imo

@GONZObignose just a thought. RB situation, Nathaniel Clyne! Was outstanding once upon a time. About 3rd/4th choice at Liverpool. 27. 18 months left on his contract. I reckon we could snap him up for 10-15 million. Thoughts for the next podcast. @hammers_chat
