Some West Ham United fans have been criticising Manuel Pellegrini after reflecting on his poor Hammers’ reign.
Despite arriving in East London with an attractive CV, the Chilean tactician failed to get us moving in the right direction.
His successes with Manchester City left the London Stadium faithful relatively pleased with when he came in before the 2018/19 campaign. But his results did not match the fans’ anticipation as he was sacked before Christmas.
Did Pellegrini deserve more time?
Yes
No
From just 64 games in charge of West Ham, Pellegrini managed to average just 1.30 points-per-game, which is the worst of his managerial career. The signing of goalkeeper Roberto was one of his many downfalls.
Because of this, supporters were not impressed with Pellegrini’s reign and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he was the worst appointment since Avram Grant, while another described him as a “poor acquisition”.

What a poor acquisition he was, imagine coming to West Ham and not being able to follow in the footsteps of all our great managers. 🤔

I had great hopes when I heard that he was to be our new boss. But they soon faded and died.
