It’s been a good season for West Ham – but it could have been better. Sure, we’ve been transitioning, and of course we’d like to think that the best is yet to come, but inconsistency has been a real problem.
Still, we’ve got a few more games this term to complete to ensure that we finish strongly, and that’ll be important as Manuel Pellegrini begins to plot his preparations for the season ahead.
That said, a recent announcement from the club has riled up more than a few West Ham fans online.
Jeff Stelling will be hosting this year’s Player Awards and announcing our 2018/19 Hammer of the Year!

This, however, hasn’t gone down too well. That’s because, as some fans have pointed out, the date – May 8th – falls just a few days before our game with Watford, meaning that the players may not be as switched on for the final fixture as most would have liked. On top of that, some aren’t a fan of the choice of host for the evening – Sky Sports’ Jeff Stelling – though their reasoning there is a little bit less clear. Still, it’s fair to say that this event hasn’t gotten off to the best start…
Wednesday 8th May? Watford 4-0 West Ham incoming.
In each of the last 3 seasons we’ve conceded 4 goals the match after this. Learn from your mistakes for crying out loud. Just do it five days later so it’s at the end of the season ffs!

So that’s where all our transfer budget went…

Is this the same Jeff Sterling that said West Ham don’t know how to lose after the Burnley game pitch invasion last season ?

I assume despite the fact that our form always nosedives after, we’re still holding it before the end of the season for :reasons:

Fabianski should be presented with the Hammer of the Year on the pitch before the last home game of the season in front of all the supporters who go week in week out, just like it was in the old days.
