According to the Sunday Mirror – via Calciomercato – another big side has joined the race for midfielder Declan Rice.
The youngster has shot to prominence this season with some great performances in the middle of the park and it should be no surprise that there is interest in him.
Indeed, joining Manchester United in the apparent race for the player is Real Madrid, and that surely makes our task of keeping him that bit harder.
Of course, it is still early to say whether there is real interest in the player but the report has to come from somewhere and it would make our life harder.
Though it’s only been this season where he has really stood out, he has taken the plaudits and the big clubs appear to be ready to come calling.
Would he be tempted if United or Madrid actually made an offer? Surely, the worrying answer is that he would.
Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
