Slaven Bilic is looking to further add to the West Ham squad and one of those he’s interest in could be Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.

According to Sky Sports, Carvalho, previously linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, wants to move to the Premier League, which could increase the Hammers’ chances of signing him.

However, the midfielder, part of the Portugal squad that won the European Championships last summer, has a £40m release clause in his Sporting contract, a deal that has three years remaining.

Clearly such a release clause wouldn’t be paid but if West Ham could agree a fee with Sporting for Carvalho, 25, he could end up at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Official Website has revealed Arthur Masuaku has been called into the DR Congo.

Masuaku, 23, is in the 36 man provisional squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Tunisia next month as he looks to win his first caps at international level.
