It would seem that West Ham United will have to do without the services of Andy Carroll for almost the remainder of the current season.

Carroll, who earlier in the transfer window, had been linked with a move across London to Chelsea, had been suffering from what was originally thought to be a minor foot injury.

However, further diagnosis revealed that the minor injury was in fact a broken bone in his foot.

It is being reported by the respected news source, The Telegraph that the 29-year-old striker has now had surgery on the aforementioned foot.

Furthermore, our referenced source is implying that the striker, who has been dogged by injuries since joining West Ham United Football Club, will be side-lined for three months as he faces a rehabilitation programme and a return to full match-fitness.

With the month of February almost upon us that would put Carroll`s anticipated comeback date as being around the end of April, just in time for the last few games of the 2017 / 2018 season.
