West Ham to walk-away from £5.4m-rated ace unless experienced man accepts Irons terms – report

West Ham are willing to call quits on Samir Nasri’s time in East London, unless the vastly experienced Frenchman is willing to accept the Irons’ significantly reduced terms, as per Football Insider.

The club had been impressed by what the former Manchester City and Arsenal playmaker initially brought to the London Stadium as a free agent in the winter, with the boss also taken back by how soon he was able to get into shape after 18-months out of action thanks to his WADA imposed drugs ban.

Since then, however, the £5.4million-rated midfielder has been plagued by injuries, and has only been able to make six appearances in Claret and Blue – the last of which came as a second-half substitute against Huddersfield on March 16.

Seven weeks out on the sidelines has changed the picture considerably for Nasri in terms of a new deal, and a source inside the club has told Football Insider that there are growing concerns over his availability next season should we offer him a prolonged stay.

There had been suggestions in the media that Nasri is after a £70,000-a-week contract, should we look to keep him beyond the summer, and would push for a lucrative appearance bonus on top of his base wage.

If he is going to be offered a new contract, however, the 41-cap former international will have to accept a greatly reduced deal. Otherwise, he will become one of the more high-profile names available on a free.
