Compared to last season, when trouble seemed to be the norm at West Ham home games as they settled into their new home, this season has been relatively peaceful.

However, against West Bromwich Albion there was an unsavoury incident when the West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore was substituted.

Verbal exchanges took place between the former Tottenham Hotspur player and some of the home support.

The altercation resulted in Livermore being escorted down the tunnel.

Following the final whistle, the former Hammers boss, Alan Pardew, had this to say about the unsavoury incident,

‘Obviously you don’t want to see a player in the crowd.

‘There’s no way he’s going in the crowd – because I know him, he’s a great lad – unless he was provoked severely. That’s all I know.

‘I haven’t had a chance to talk to Jake. I’ll speak to Jake and we’ll go from there.’

Whereas the Hammers boss, David Moyes, added,

‘I didn’t know about it, but I’ve been told something happened.’

West Ham have promised to investigate the incident and with so many cameras focussed on the crowd we`re sure what happened will be acted upon accordingly.
